Ready brake cable failure
Tested the Jeep this weekend before our 2 week trip next week and the brake pedal would not return after being applied by the ready brake. Found the interior of the cable failed, something inside the metal shielding came loose and the steel cable binds up. tried clearing it up with a brazing rod and it's difficult for it to pass by that spot. trying locally for a replacement but may have to overnight one. i looked into other types of push/pull cables but nothing will work. Glad I found it now instead of Sunday morning as we were waving bye bye to the neighborhood....
Going to fasten the new one to the brake pedal as suggested by FIRE UP in a previous post, can't find his photo though.....I removed the coating and bent the cable after I determined it was unusable , I wanted to test it's flexibility.
