The only time a Class A is economical is when you turn the key off. Everything else is just an attempt to justify an expensive way of traveling at today's fuel prices and Class A's MPG. Now 20 years ago that statement would have never been said by me, but times they are a changin'.
Do I take that to mean you feel a Class A is becoming obsolete?
I sort of feel that way. I'd like to have one, but I think the low MPG would drive me crazy. Not so bad for a day trip, but to go across country, I'd be cranky after a few days.
The one I want is listed a few posts above, a Vista 27N. 7.5 MPG at 55-60. That's exactly what I would have expected.
Well I just sold mine, and it was a good one that I had to let go at a very good price due to the lack of buyers.
IMO, Class A's are great if you spend enough time in them. Like I said prior, very economical once you turn the key off. Not so when the ignition key is on. Love that form of travel though. I think the last generation had the "Golden Years" of MH's.
