Rear air bags ... What psi should they be

After a 1/2 year of owning this new to me 2001 Fleetwood Flair 31A I just discovered two air nipples in the bay where my sewer and electrical are. There is a little plaque that states the air pressure must be maintained to a minimum amount, but that minimum amount of PSI is not stated. I put an air gauge to the nipples and both register zero psi. I called Fleetwood, they said that Ford would have installed the air bags and gave me the number to call, Ford says that Fleetwood would have installed the air bags so I should get the info from them. I gave up and have come here to ask the question. How much air psi should I put in those bags. Thanks Bill.

  • I have air bags on my Coachmen. I tried 50psi to begin with and really felt little difference. I then tried 70 psi what a difference. Now I run all the time at 70psi. Coach handles better, less roll and much more stability.
I think you need to try different pressures to determine what pressure you need to run.
First check what brand of air bags you have then check their web site for the pressure range you need to try.
  • I have air lift and the minimum amount is 50 lbs. for their bags.

    error on who made them.
  • Ford didn't install the airbags, infact they might be 3rd party and not Fleetwood either.

Minimum is probably around 5 psi, I usually run mine around 7 to 10.
