Rear View Camera

Any help on troubleshooting rear view camera on a 1996 Damon Intruder. Ford chassi if that matters. Black and white Voyager. Monitor seems to be working, but no picture (just white snow). I ain't got a clue on how to check the camera.

  • My cat used to unplug the connector on the back of the monitor from time to time. There was also an unused second camera switch on the monitor that somehow got moved to the nonexistent camera position once.

First check is to check the coax by opening the housing. Next is the tap tap on the camera once inside while somebody watches the monitor. May be as simple as a coax/power issue, or as complex as a bad camera or tiny wire fracture.
  • I have owned it a couple of years and it is always on with the ignition switch. I just went to use it and no image on monitor.
  • Not familiar with that particular model, but it may be set up to operate only when in reverse. Turn on ignition and put the mh in reverse and see if it comes on. Also, may be a switch to have it come on just in reverse or on all the time. Also it may have more than one camera input on monitor. If it does, move it to one of the other inputs.
