I found that there is a lot of talk of covers this time of year, but haven't been able to find the answer to my particular question.Can anyone recommend a cover that doesn't tear like tissue paper? We've had 2 different types of ADCO covers in 5 years and they both ended up looking like swiss cheese. They catch on every corner and the slide awnings. We use our cover a lot throughout the year and i realize there is a lot of on and off, but the damage seems to come when it is on the rv and not the cover/uncovering.I try not to cinch too tight, just snug enough to keep from billowing too much. I also realize they have to breath to allow ventilation, but the amount of damage I end up with seems excessive.

That "damage" is precisely why most folk don't cover.

If the roof is waterproof, why do you need to cover it?

It is there high end cover but bought at a discount on Amazon.It has a 4 year warranty. I taped old pool bubble cover over the sharp edges. Perma Pro cover postThere are custom fit covers that are over $1000 but made of the best outdoor material (Sunbrella) that would probably last longer and do less damage to the RV since they are custom fit.

I've had a Goldline cover for 2 yrs real happy with it; tried ADCO first with same issues.

There are lots of options. In my experience, the thin light weight ones just don't hold up long term.

I'm trying out the Premier Cover from Empire Covers. It's their highest quality cover they claim. I've only been using it for a couple months, but so far so good. Check out my video review if your interested.

I got mine at national discount covers 5 years ago. I bought the cheap one and it has been quite good I'll have to say. The first year I cinched it down tying all the loops going under the body and it did some tearing at the corners.

After that I only tie one down under the middle, then I go around the entire base of the motor home with a long rope right above the bumpers. This takes care of the billowing and has worked really well the last 4 years.

I don't think it's the price as much as it is the installation method used.

Thanks all, great advice, will look into the PermaPro!.

why do i cover?

1. No black streaks running down the sides.
2. Nothing is waterproof. Water will 'always' find a way in when there is enough of it.
3. Its not just about water, UV rays can be just as damaging
4. Most of all, i get told all the time that my rig looks brand new - when its really a 2005. : )

Check out Cal-Mark covers. Mine has lasted 8 years. I expect it last a few more years.
ADCO and some of the other manufactures make covers out of Sunbrella like the Cal-Mark covers. But dealers do not stock them. They need to be ordered.
