- wny_pat1ExplorerAnd Zep Wet Look is not a wax!! It is a type of clear finish similiar to the Poliglow finish, but much more reasonably priced.
- deandecExplorerI applied the zep to my sun intense rear cap gelcoat surface.
It blends perfectly with the adjacent original clear coat and survived through one summer of 100 degree days.
My test is not over, but the Zep is much less work to apply than a new application of a two part clear coat sprayed on a large surface. - C-Leigh_RacingExplorerSure made our old 99 HR look better.
One down fall of using it, got to be careful & not let the tax revaluation man come by when your not there, cause next thing you know your taxes will go up by that fool thinking you've bought a new one.
Neil - ClassAGeekExplorerIf you have the time and desire to spend a full day waxing and polishing, then I am sure you will find alternative products. I am nowhere near retirement and just use an RV for weekend enjoyment. I have no interest in 10 hour cleaning projects. Someday I am sure I will have more time. Until then using 'floor wax' is fine with me. I am now into year 2 using Zep Wet Look wax. Next spring I plan to reapply for the first time. My initial application took about 60 minutes for 3 coats. The overall improvement was amazing - and still is. When people comment 'You must spend hours shining' I tell them what I did and even show them the streaks, drips and missed spots. Invariably I hear 'Who cares. Where do I get some?'.
If you ask a floor wax specialist about RV usage, of course they will say no. Why would they know?
Some will say 'the is no UV protection' to which I respond 'Who cares? It lasts 2 years.' (Aside: I know that no ingredient in a clear finish that's 2 microns thick can last more than a few hours. Only opaque masking offers long term UV protection - look it up).
If any of this disturbs you, please don't use Zep floor wax. As mentioned before, if Zep finds out, they will raise the price. - BumpyroadExplorer

yep, I bought a couple of bottles back when this was the rage and never got around to using it on my RV after hearing about the horrible mess of having to remove/strip it after a couple of years. think I will use a product intended for RV use.

I hope that they don't know how may boats (where the use started) and RVs are running around with ZEP or RMP. If they do they will put RV/Boat on the label and triple the price. - hersheyExplorer

Good information but its probably a stock answer to protect themselves from someone using it as a MH sealant/polish and not performing like it does as a floor finish. Then complaining about the results.
Its a personal choice and I wouldn't try to insist that someone use it in a manner not designed. But for many, we have had very good luck. In just under 3 years after application (fulltiming) I've had to redo the front cap over the windshield twice and the entry door once. The door was probably because I didn't prep it properly, the front cap because I've been pretty aggressive in getting rid of all bug residue and scrubbed way too hard :)
The entire MH looks like it did when first applied. - robsouthExplorer IIAnd if you ask Zep about their product they will tell you that is to be used for indoor floors only and should not be applied to fiberglass for used in an outdoor situation. I emailed them and asked.
