I never let my water go where anyone walked. It went into the bushes....also,,i know for a fact that SOAP is a wetting agent that farmers use with which to irrigate.. so,,, back in 1972 all I was using was bath soap and shampoo... I doubt very seriously that there were ANY harmful chems in it. the sandy soil up in the mtns in Gunnison natl forest was very absorbent and I imagine it went away pretty quickly,, especially only one gallon of water,,,, and in the thicket where I poured the dishpan no one ever even was near...but that's just my story. Im sure im not the only one that's ever let their gray water run on the ground,,or rather INTO the ground. at least it didn't have any chlorine in it... was well water
