- jubymaeExplorerI turn reefer off when fueling, but turn it back on gas /auto when going down the road. Always have and never have had a problem.
- Dog_FolksExplorerI guess I am against the crowd.
After living in hurricane country for over 30 years, I learned that a refrigerator will stay cold for up to 24 hours if it is not opened.
It certainly stays cold for our usual 3-4 hour trips.
No worries about refrigerant leaking and the propane setting it on fire. - gboppExplorerWe always travel with ours running on propane.
- snowdanceExplorerSet mine on Auto and it runs on propane when traveling. When stoping for a short time and we are way off level we may shut it off and always when we fuel. Been traveling with the fridge on from the time we got our first one over 30 years ago. Never had a problem.
- VintageRacerExplorerI just run it normally when traveling.
Brian - EycomExplorerIn my full timing adventures, I turn the fridge off while defrosting the freezer. I use a hairdryer to expedite that effort, taking about 30 minutes to defrost and clean. I also shut it off while refueling at the pump. Other than that, it runs 24/7.
