Most of our trips are weekends so refueling is pretty easy at the local stations that I already have an in/out plan. When traveling further down the road I preplan. I develop two maps, camp grounds/sight seeing and refueling. I also include resupply stops. Street view and satellite images will give you a good idea of access and such. Get the Gas Buddy app also. When pumping 40+ gallons saving 5 to 10 cents a gallon by driving ten minutes past the interstate exit will add up quickly.
Refueling with a tow vehicle attached is not difficult. The tow vehicle will track with the coach. It won't cut a turn closer or swing wider and pretty much will stay inside the path of the coach. You will need to take into account the longer length so you're not blocking traffic in and around the fuel pumps. Just take your time and wait for the open lane/pump you want. If necessary park off to the side and disconnect the tow but it you plan your stop doing so should not be necessary. As a backup at a busy station disconnect and use the car as a guide or space holder to get into the pump lane you want.
