Remco

I just bought a new-to-me 1999 class a winnebago. It has a switch on the drivers dash labeled "Remco". I think it has something to do with flat towing a car behind the motorhome. He was flat towing a saturn car behind it. Can anyone help me figure what is going on?

  • some saturns could not be towed 4 wheels down. I think some of the suv's
  • Someone in the past has used a Remco transmission lube pump ...the Saturn does not require one so it must've been the car before or someone else who had the unit put in there.
  • My used towed had a speedo disconnect(illegal now) but the switch was in the towed. I would for no other reason than I was curious follow the load side wire and see where it went. You might find it by looking at the wires on the switch and then the towed connecter on the receiver hitch.

If it doesn't effect when turned on, you can probably just ignore it, me I'm curious and it would drive me nuts.
  • I had a remco lube pump on my Mercury Villager Van. It's more then likely for the monitor that that lets you know the connection is correct. If your tow vehicle doesn't need a lube pump then just ignore or disconnect it. I thought Saturn's could be flat towed w/o pump. Something else? anyone?
