Most tire sensors have an allen type wrench that can be used to tighten them on to the valve stem. This does not mean that a thief will not have an allen wrench, but it does slow things down. They also make "flow thru" sensors that do not have to be removed to add air and they have the usual screw on type sensors that must be removed to check and add air. I'm not sure that theft of TPMS sensors is a common occurrence.
