To answer your initial question on how to remove the old set..... ours is in the front dash as well. There is a trim piece around the tv that pretty much holds the set in place. There are 4 plugs/beauty covers, one on each corner. Ease a small bladed screwdriver under each, gently pull them out and there will be a recessed screw beneath them. Remove the screws, then remove the trim piece and the tv should come right out. At least that's how MINE works. Good luck and please post what you do to replace it or what you put in place of that hole. I'm trying to engineer in my mind what I want to do with that old, non-functioning tv too. Thinking about a flat screen like the one posted earlier, but I don't want it there permanently. I'd like to make a storage bin or component bin in place of the old tv to hold the satellite box/dvd player/stereo amplifier, etc. Just not sure at this stage and am looking for additional ideas. I guess I'll eventually be forced to join Pinterest since my wife seems to find all sorts of inspiration for our house! ;-)
