I'm doing mine as we speak on my "new to me" 2003 DSDP. If it's clear it comes off "fairly" easily a couple of square inches at a time. If it's mildewed/rust coloured then it breaks in itty bitty little pieces!
I've found using a Shark steamer on the vinyl for about 20-30 seconds on the brittle stuff seems to make it a bit more pliable for about three or four minutes. I also use a small plastic drywall mud knife and can get underneath and scrape an 1/2 inch or so. Most of the left over adhesive rubs off with a bit of pressure with your fingers. (Lots of sore fingers from picking it off and rubbing off the adhesive!):D
I figure that by the end of the summer I might have it off!
It could certainly be worth a few hundred to have someone else take it off!
