My 2009 Holiday Rambler Admiral came with Wheel Master braided tire valve extensions. One of them is a little frayed so I decided to replace it, simple job right?My RV also came with Wheel Master Wheel Liners and I need to get these off first. As you can see from the image the liner has 10 nut covers, 5 are nut shaped and 5 are rounded. The "T" tool provided with the motorhome fits the nut shaped covers but they won't budge, the tool starts to bend first. I can't figure out if the rounded ones come off or not.Anyone have any ideas on how to remove this wheel liner? From some reading it seems that 5 of these covers hide the actual wheel nuts, the other 5 hide some combination of dummies and the nuts holding on wheel liner. But what is what and how do I get this thing off.Thanks,Martin

Not quite the same, but my wheel liners are simply hubcaps and come off that way. The "nuts" on the wheel liners are simply dummies and part of the liner.

Not sure if mine are the same, but there are two lugs that actually hold the cover onto the wheel. The ones that can be removed have a dimple or two on the side of the chrome nut. The others won't do anything. Hope that helps. Mine take a 1-1/8" socket.

The nut shaped ones actually have a lug nut behind them that holds the complete wheel and wheel cover in place. You need remove them using a normal lug wrench or air impact socket. I don't think you will ever get them off using the T-Handle tool.The rounds ones will be dummies just covering the remaining lug nuts.Michael

Look real carefully at the lug nut covers. Two of them, 180 degrees opposite each other will have a dimple on two sides of the nut cover. These are the two that come off with your T handle, they just unscrew, no need to pry the nut covers off, they come off together. The other lug nut covers are part of the wheel liner and do not move, keep your T handle off of these or you will be buying a new liner and they are not cheap

We HAD a similar T-handle socket. First time I tried it, the handle twisted 90 degrees without loosing the nut. Know I just use a regular 1/2" drive socket set. Beverley & Ken

Went to Auto Zone got a socket that fit and a reducer 3/4" drive to a 1/2" drive and use an 18" breakover bar with a 12" extension to take them off.. It has become part of the tools I carry on the coach to use as needed.. The wrench they send is worthless.. Mike Mathews..

Thank you all for your input. I spent yesterday looking for dimples and pinging away but no luck :( Everything looked and sounded the same.

mfox20 was our winner, I guess we have the same basic liners. It was the 5 lugs with the hex tops that I had to go after. I was never able to get the T tool to loosen them and my socket set did not go up that far. But once I knew what I was looking for I was able to get the correct size socket, 1 1/8" in my case. The tops came off and the liner slid right out. Piece of cake when you know what you are doing :)

Now I can get started on the real job.

Mine has the 2 removable nut covers that slip on. I have a nut cover removal tool to remove the covers. The liner is held on by 1-5/8" jam nuts. The t handle will remove the nuts if you used it to install and tighten them originally. Good luck.

Thats what I did, just used a 1/2" drive socket the right size & extention.
That little T handle provided is a joke, I guess its just for looks, cause it sure cant remove those wheel cover nuts.

I checked mine on my 2000 HR Endeavor tonight when I got in. Mine has eight lugs with 4 being round and 4 looking like lug nuts.

The 4 that look like lugs have their own nut inside that screws onto the last few threads against the regular lug nuts. I use a regular socket and ratchet to remove those 4 and the WM cover comes right off.

If they were not on too tight you might be able to remove them with the T-Handle wrench. I think if they are not removed very often it just takes a little more leverage.

just tap on the nuts 2 will sound solid the rest have a tinny sound
the solid ones are the ones you take off

I own a Winnebago, but have the same type of wheel liners! I have a T - Handle wrench socket which came with the coach. The wheel liner has 2 lugs one on each side of the wheel liner that hold it in place. I have never lost a wheel liner lug nut and I just tighten them the best I can by hand. Good Luck
