my velvac mirrors have a bolt that holds the Head to the mount
stright up thru the "elbow" ?
but the motorized movable assemble is held internally with clamps around a large stainless steel L rod, the end of which is where the bolt hold the end to the mount
there is NO access to tighten this up
i have never seen one come loose
i have seen worn out/broken position gearing, and that will cause the plate the glass is mounted on to vibrate/wobble
in which case you replace the mirror
i had to replace one damaged by another vehicle
even though the mirror was busted and useless i could not pry the backing (movable plate) out of the assembly to try and salvage any parts or tighten up the internal structure
