Thank you for all your advice. I'm trying to look at both immediate and long term prices. I have 2 relatives who are mechanics, but I don't want to ask them for quite THAT much help. Given what you both have said, I think I'll start looking for a different RV. I know I want a diesel, but I have a REALLY low immediate budget. I was planning on buying the mh in November and changing the engine later, but it sounds like even if I wait to switch the engine it will be more costly and time-consuming than it is really worth to me.
Does anyone know of an older Class C that runs on diesel?
It doesn't have to be great. I don't plan in driving it often, but when I do, I would drive it about 150 miles. For the most part, it will just be in an RV park. I am mostly looking at interior, plumbing, wiring, etc, but for the times I do drive it, I would prefer a diesel.
