I pulled all my carpet after taking out the 3 captains chairs, the sofa and booth seats. Replaced with inexpensive vinyl peel and stick tile to please the DW. I did leave the bed support in and cut around it, leaving the old carpet underneath since it hadn't seen any use and no fade or stains.

For prep: Don't use the old carpet. Remove everything you can, then sit on a rolling creeper-type seat to save your knees while you pull 10,031 staples with a screwdriver and pliers. Or get your wife to do it. LOL
For installation: Pay some carpet guys who know what they are doing.
A suggestion: Consider a DIY layer of stick-on soundproofing mat prior to carpet pad. Road and drivetrain noise will be greatly reduced. Will also serve as a water resistant barrier in case of a plumbing problem, open window during rain etc. Many cheaper alternatives to Dynamat will do the same job at lower $$$. Money well spent and zero $$ maintenance.
Good luck and have fun
