- ScottGNomadAt first I read your post and thought How could an 04 AC be worn out? Then I saw you are in Fl. - I guess that explains it!
Here in Wa. state they have a life expectancy of about 200 years! :B
Good luck in your search - I don't think there's many choices anymore.
Scott - PeralkoExplorerA 150,000 Btu unit must be bigger than your coach! Seriously, ease of replacement depends on whether the wiring is the same. We had all three units replaced, and had to run new wiring and install new thermostats. If everything is the same, it should be a relatively easy plug and play.
- powderman426ExplorerThat is one huge air conditioner. It probably requires a 200 amp service.
- GoombayExplorerOOPS. I meant 15,000 btu
- BonefishExplorerSame make and model is a piece of cake.
Take digital photos of all the wire connections.
One or two buddies to help get it on to the roof and old one off.
Some plywood or old carpeting to set old and new unit on so you do not cut the roof material.
Turn off all AC power (breaker if isolated to one breaker) and unhook battery.
Detach wires coming in from thermostat and AC power.
Pull 4 bolts and lift out of opening.
Clean area and replace roof seal, carefully drop new unit in hole, re attach 4 hold down bolts.
Re attach all the power and thermostat wires as per above photo.
Flip breaker on and power up unit. - glamisorbustExplorer II

X2, I have done a couple and they were a piece of cake. The first one was a little more challenging, had to run a new thermostat wire into the wall which was a complete PITA. But I got it all wired up and working great. The latest one I bought off of ebay was $600 shipped to my door, and it is a dometic 13,500 BTU. The username of the guy on ebay is fresnorv. Tons of great deals to be had. - TechWriterExplorer

I have a 2004 R-Vision Condor and the roof AC has died. It is a Dometic . . .

I could not find the fresno rv on ebay, but I found this one. Great deal here! - MountainAir05Explorer IIThe other issue will be if you have a four button thermostat. The newer AC required the 5 button.
- sljkansasExplorerAtwood now as a 15K unit that only draws 10amps, you control it from either the AC unit or remote control (it also is a heat pump). My neighbor next to me at the lake had 2 new AC unit put on his 5ver over the winter. He has 30amp service and for a test he turned on both AC units, microwave, electric water heater, and coffee maker, and didn't trip the pedestal breaker. Last year with the AC running, he could run the 2 AC units and one other item (listed above.) He has a n older Alpha and it has a basement AC/heat pump, that worked OK until it got to the mid 90's but when it hit over 100, the best he could due was high 80's.
