We installed lamintate in ours about 5 years ago. It is floating with the quarter round at the edges. Cutting all the quarter round to match all the corners was the biggest task. The flooring itself was easy. One problem we do have is the slide when it comes is WILL scratch the flooring. Our slide does not have rollers but what looks like a piece of plastic that slides over the floor. This was no problem with carpet but it does scratch the floor. What we do is put down some pieces of linoleum so the slide goes on them instead of the floor. So after 5 years it still looks pretty good.
