Replacing Horn - Want a LOUD One

The OEM horns on our MH are just two of the standard automobile horns. They have both corroded and failed, they now just sort of "squeak". I plan to replace them. I have checked my owners manual and there is a 20A fuse for the horn so believe there is a horn relay. My budget is about $50. I have read reviews for Bad Boy and other types/brands, these all have mixed reviews, some say great, others are disappointed not loud enough.

Would appreciate your suggestions, which one is loudest for the dollars, thanks!
  • I like the Hadley horns myself. They mount on the roof of the motorhome and really give a deep throaty blast when you hit the horn button.

  • Bad Boys aren't a train horn. There was something on here recently about a law that says they need to be visible.
  • I got one of their BadBoy horns and it was plenty loud. Just ask the butthead that cut in front of me in Kitty Hawk last year.

What about the people who might be driving next to you who didn't "cut you off?"
Do we really need train horns on streets and highways?

Ya, I know I'm in for it now...but I have thick skin.

Hooks up to the same wiring as an auto horn.
  • Ever consider getting a set of train horns? Do a Google search on Air Horns and have fun! Watching some of the YouTube videos where folks have installed them on their cars and trucks is absolutely hilarious!
  • I have used the Stebel Nautilus in several vehicles, including my motorcycle. Sound level is 140 dB. I run them in parallel with the OEM horn, so both sound simultaneously.

Each installation is different and may need a custom bracket.
