- 2oldmanExplorer IIRead any tire threads lately?
- rv2goExplorer IIIf you were to decide on Michelins, the FMCA Tire Connection could save you dollars.
- TempatureControExplorerI replaced the beginning to river Bad Years last year with AH-12 Hankooks on our 06 Monaco Knight. Date codes were only a month or 2 old. Had to order the tires. Installation price included mounting&balancing of all 6. Be sure to go back and have mounting torque re-checked after~100 miles. Been to Fla and back twice since and a trip to Black Hills. Happy with purchase and ride.
- GrandpereExplorerTo answer your question, People, on this forum and other forums also, who have Hankook tires really like them and say they get many miles out of them.

We have a Class A Motorhome (Newmar Kountry Star) year 2006. We must replace 6 tires and friends have suggested Hankook Tires. Does anyone know anything about these tires, and what other tires do you recommend.
IF the tires on the coach are originals, what is your opinion of them? If they have served you well, why gamble on the unknown?
How tires have served other people on their coach is not really relevant to how tires will perform on your coach and the way you load it and travel. Your own experience on your own coach is what counts. If the existing tires did not perform well, try to find out why or you may have the same problem with new tires.
Also keep in mind that any brand of new tires will initially ride better because the rubber is new and softer, compared to your old original tires that have hardened with age. Only time will tell whether a different brand tires is better than what you replace. - gboppExplorerI replaced the eight Michelins on our 96 Southwind with Hankook.
They're good tires. I'll buy them again unless I find something of equal quality at a better price.
I don't think you will regret buying Hankook. - Crazy_RayExplorerGood tires, but I like TOYO
- 1963jarheadExplorerHad 6 put on our 33ft Winnebago, Super Tires!
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIThe only tire opinion that is relevant is the one given at the end of the tires life. In other words, how did it perform over the 6-10 year life of the tire, not how it rode when new or after a few thousand miles.
That is why I asked the OP how his original tires performed? He never said what brand tires they were. Those tires may have been manufactured in 2005 and if they have served him well, that is a pretty decent testimonial.
Show me a testimonial from someone that had a similar coach, and has just replaced their 2005-6 Hankook tires and then we can compare the service life apples for apples. - robatthelakeExplorerJust because a particular Brand lasted well isn't really a testimonial to the Tires Performance. You could not possibly wear out any of the Tires originally installed unless You drive every Day and haul a large amount of weight. They will Age Out before they wear out!
Of course if there was uneven wear due to poor alignment or damaged components that would certainly affect the tires longevity.
The Manufacturer could also produce Defective Tires, that might cause premature wear, such as rivering ,which We saw a few Years ago on some American produced Tires!
Personally I have never had a Tire problem that I could blame on the Manufacturer. I have had a problem that was attributed to tampering with the Valves resulting in total loss of pressure on two Duals . I have a pretty good idea who did it but can't prove who it was!
I also had a Blow Out on a Fifth Wheel Tire which had been curbed during a Parking Lot Entry!
Getting back to Hankook ,I haven't personally used them ,but have read good reviews!
I'm running Double Coin, traction Tires on the rear and Continentals on the Steering axle !
They are just as quiet and Ride the same as the Michelins that came with Our Rig when We bought it!
