Quality products work great and last a long time. Have had ours fultime for several years. Better than sliced bread as they say.

After having a residential fridge we would not go back! 4 batteries and a inverter work well. Having the larger fridge is great when traveling!! Also if we needed to replace it, we can get one for $700. 19cuft Stainless steel:)

We are looking to move to the Class A and I was curious about residential fridges now that they have been around a while. The MH is probably better equipped for long running, as the one we looked at yesterday had 8 coach batteries and a 2 inverters, one dedicated for the fridge, but none the less I do leave mine parked for several days without power. From the responses, I don't think I have much to worry about and I just need to get past my hesitations - much like the fireplace as you say :)

We have had ours for about 3 years. No complaints. We occasionally dry camp for anywhere from a day or two to a week or two. No worries. We have a robust solar and battery system but the reality we always run our generator at meal preparation times, so say total of 90 minutes per day. We have no power problems.

Installed one about 3 months ago and works great. We only travel 5 or 6 hours a day and always plug in at a campground at night, so no inverter needed. I did buy 3 of those cold block things that I keep in the freezer; move two of them down into the fridge when unplugged because my wife has thousands of dollars of injections that have to be kept between 36 and 46 degrees ---- but they aren't really needed. I think I could stay unplugged 8 or 10 hours without the freeze blocks and still be OK.

It's really nice having quick recovery and much more cold/frozen food storage. Twice gone 24 hrs before recharging 6 house batteries. Pulls only about 1 Amp. on and off several times an hour.
Engine alternator charges all batteries while moving, as well as generator and shore power. So batteries are being charged most of the time.

What I HATE about mine is I now have to put the ice cream in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to make it soft enough to scoop out. Never had to do that with the NotSoCold 1200LRIM.....Dennis

In my class A (bus conversion) I have had no issues. The unit was installed in 1999 and I full time with it.
