- barnaclebillExplorerThanks all, good information. I got what I needed, glad I asked this forum
Bill - Passin_ThruExplorerYou have to test the batteries for Amperage and then figure out Amperage draw by using a meter between batteries and fridge. It's all simple math with a good digital meter. Mine will run for days on 1 12V.
- OkieGeneExplorerYou should get a few solar panels.
- IvylogExplorer IIIFour batteries will run my 21cuft 48+ hours before getting to 50%.
- moishehExplorerWe have gone 24 hours but did not open the fridge. If needed you can set your auto start on the genie to come on. BTW: many do not realize that if your batteries are depleted it is not a good idea to start the MH and hit the road. Too hard on the alternator. You should run the genie and let the inverter do the charging for at least an hour.
Moisheh - dons2346ExplorerI have gone 20 hours without power to the Samsung because of a bad transfer switch. Everything was still frozen and the refer portion was still within safe limits, below 40.

Very true ! If you keep the door closed, you can drive all day with no power to the refrigerator and be fine. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer II

I had unplugged my RV to moved it and forgot to plug it back in. Went 4 days no problem. Course it was just sitting I wasn't opening and closing the refrig doors. But batteries were hardly down much at all. When were traveling many times we don't run the generator and haven't had a problem. Yes I have the Samsung. Took out the Norcold and installed the Samsung. Best mod I ever did. Won't buy another rig without a residential style unless it's a REAL good $ and I can swap it to residential fairly easy.
Thanks, just need it to stay on the battery bank (4 6volts) overnite or perhaps up to 24 hours without opening and ice maker off.
Leave the ice maker running it will not make a noticeable difference. Running down the road with your fridge is also not an issue as the alternator will be charging more than the fridge will ever draw. This is not true in many trailer/5th wheel setups but should hold true in all Class A/C setups. - TntmanExplorerAccording to Tiffins question and answer man, the house batteries (6 6 volt batteries) will last 24 hours. You then need to start Jenny if boondocking.
