I have read your motor Conversion. I would love to put a diesel in my HR. Don't think I am wanting one to do the work involved. I do like what you did and appreciate the work and vision it takes for a project like that.
At this point I think I am going to stick with gas. Maybe if this thing blows a rod I will look into a stroked motor.
I have looked at some post that say there is a no computer Allison 4 speed auto that will fit with not much work. It would give me a little better gearing. I haven't had a chance to drive the thing more then 60 miles or so, not feeling the OMG this thing sucks gas effect yet.
I was thinking about using a line lock on the front breaks, off one of my old car projects, to lock the front brakes instead of the large round drum they are using for a parking break. If it works well it would save a few pounds, and let me remove that big drum that makes my OCD go nuts every time I think about it under there doing its job.
After some reading, it seems that the parts in a line lock are not rated for constant voltage that will happen if I try to use it as a parking break. There are a few mechanical switches that I may be able to mount in the floor some where if I whish to continue on with this idea.
