The black stuff is what wont come off from the old tape that was there.
The rear cap is fiberglass, and the roof is over the top of it for around 1.5 to two inch I am guessing. The are some large head rivits every 1.5 holding the two togeather. You cant see it in these pictures, but they must have used some sort of sealint between the two, before the fastned them togeather as is is seeping out between the two in about ten placees in this section of the assembly.
I steped most everywhere on the roof before I bought the thing. I figured if I fell throough that ment Karma was going to get me and I should not buy it. There are a couple of spots where you can tell the rafter, or support is not under you, but every thing seems solid at this time. The metal must not be glued to any thing as it does bend when you step on it, if you are not paying a ttention to where the main supports are. I see no rips or tears in the roof at this point, just alot of old sealant that has gotten hard and cracked in the Florida weather.
