Retrieving Onan diesel generator fault codes?

As far as I know you just watch them blink. Onan has had some problems with their fuel pumps over heating. My fuel pump was changed out under warranty and I asked the serviceman why they continue to mount them on the generator if they continue to have heat problems. He said some people actually operate the generators separate on different equipment so they keep mounting the fuel pump on the generator where it really gets hot. Seems like an easy job to move it. If I ever have problems again I am going to move my fuel pump to the MH frame a few feet away where it will run cooler. JMHO
