road side assistance for semi-converted bus?

Their breakdowns were mostly tires. one wheel problem, and one computer problem. Now have new tires.

They need to read their P&C policy carefully. Most if not all policies have exclusions covering Commercial use. They could have a accident and find they are not covered for anything. ERS is the least of their worries.

If it is breaking down that much, the road side assistance company will quickly cancel the contract. The guys need to get it fixed up so it doesn't breakdown all the time.

x2 on Rainbird's comment. If the van is breaking down so often, there must be an underlying problem.

Keep checking around with emergency road service providers, there are those who will contract with commercial carriers, although those rates tend to be enough higher that most carriers and drivers self-insure.

Be aware that frequent use of road service will result in cancellation. There are no assigned risk pools to guarantee coverage of high risk clients, for road service insurance, which is actually more like a service contract than an insurance policy.

A "reasonable price" to service contract providers involves collecting enough premium from each client to pay for cost of service provided to that client, over the long term. This is a different business model from that of casualty insurance.

Just ask the experts-----I have Good Sam and they will come tow, service, everything we own and have so far. What is a 1 ton truck pulling a 2 car trailer???? Good Sam towed it. And how many people have you had in your motor home without any special license.....don't make it more difficult than it is.

Sounds to me like the vehicle in the OP's post has serious problems.

Not true, if it is titled as a bus with above 14 passengers you have to have the passenger endorsement.

You need to get it reclassified, and I have heard that is VERY hard to do.

Another option is to have them contact their insurance carrier. GS would not tow my enclosed trailer so I contacted my carrier (Progressive). They have provided me with excellent coverage for both the enclosed trailer and a 100 mile tow of the MH in Texas.
