Roadmaster, base plate, to Blue OX fittings
I have a chance to purchase a Road master Base plate used. For our 09, crv. Is there any way to convert to Blue Ox, tow bar, and eliminate the cross bar. Thanks, Chuck

It is item BX88178 about three down on the page. It is a crossbar that mounts onto the Roadmaster towing brackets to complete the baseplate, and has BlueOx double tabs for the three prong towbars.
Crossbar is necessary because most Roadmaster bracket configurations do not provide a complete baseplate. A crossbar is needed to tie the two brackets together for lateral strength. Reese, Demco, BlueOx baseplates all include this bar in the hidden part of the baseplate, as do a few recent Roadmaster pieces, particularly those that install in place of OEM bumper face bars.
