Road/Wind Noise

We took delivery on a new 2014 Sunstar recently and have a great deal of wind noise (driver side of the MH window) Took it in to CW and they were really perplexed by it but said they would work on it.

Not always there but when it is, it will drive a guy to drink.....or take his hearing aids out but that doesn't help my wife.

Anyone got and ideas?

  • I experienced the wind noise on a trip coming back from TX. Going out was OK, no noise. It was terrible. I put some black caulking around the frame where it appeared to be have a slight opening. It helped some. Tried tightening the screws which held the frame, no luck. I finally just put an ear plug in. I was driving. Fortunately, my DH is hard of hearing. He was in the passenger seat and never heard it all. 2009 Hurricane, Class A. Unit since traded.
  • Look for any seams in your mirrors and use scotch tape to cover them. then take a test drive.

Start by putting tape over the weep holes at the bottom of the window... May be just one of them. Next I,d put tape over the area you think the noise is coming from. At some point you should find the source and black electrical tape lasts a long time.

This is not a joke but I turn up the radio to drown the noise out until it fixed! And yes I know it's treating the symptom and not the cause. I wear hearing aids also! Good Luck getting it fixed hopefully new door seals will do the trick by CW!
