Rodent in the RV.... ACK!!!

I figure the rodent has done from 1500 to 5500 in dollar damages.

It hid in the foam of the fold out couch, and the drivers chair.

I'm very curious where it found water...

I purchased MANY glue traps, and set them all over. I purchased an expensive electronic trap, but I think the rat was sorta smart and it avoided it despite being hungry.

Every evening I was trying new methods to get rid of this pest.

I was using Jiffy, I think, peanut butter in the smaller mouse traps. That worked, as bait, till the RAT, was able to back out of being caught.

I bought a new style Victor Rat Trap, and I put a drop of Olive Oil on the trip mechanism.

When I heard the trap SPROING, and I saw the trapped RAT, I initially thought it was a lethal event for the critter.

Well, it worked.... sorta. The trap only squashed the critters frontal head. After about two hours, I noticed it was still ALIVE... so I put my foot down on the other side of the trap to suffocate it; seems it worked.
  • I had a squirell get into my genset many years ago and chew up the wiring harness. I don't like using bait traps because it attracts rodents to your coach. But I do use them once I know there inside. Now I use electronic sound devices (at least 2 of them) and, I took one day off bought a lot of course steel wool pulled out every drawer in the coach and anywhere else where I could get to a runway or cubby hole and stuffed it with very coarse steel wool! I haven't had a problem since. Good Luck to you and sorry to hear about your problem!
