Roof Leaks

For anyone with a Winnebago with a fiberglass roof check the chaulking at the drip rail where the roof meets. On my 2013 Itasca 26he there was a seam open almost all the way down both sides of the roof allowing moisture to leak into the sidewalls. Hopefully I caught the problem in time. I cleaned up the seam with alcohol and reapplied new silicone chaulking. Something to watch for on The Winnebago roofs!

  • I'd check to see what material winnebago recommends and rip out the silicone and replace it.
    bumpy
  • People look at me like I'm crazy when I say the first thing to do is inspect everything on the roof and sides. They say, but it's new:)
  • Every winnebago i have owned I put 2 inch eternabond tape there and no more ussues ever
  • Please check-- not aware that Winnebago recommends silicone caulk.

But, yes, this is part of routine maintenance on Winnebago roofs.
