Roof Paint

Yes Sir, boats can be a P.I.T.A if you know what I mean. We've had four of them and, to keep the fiberglass looking top knotch, especially at the waterline, is always a chore. I've used several different compounds on them and, eventually they come out looking great. But, as you say, it's work, and nothing but work. To the OP, this is basically related to your original post, just a different application.

I just did a boat and tried several compounds that is why I asked. The out side hull was much worst that my 18 year old MH. I had to use 1000 grit sand paper to remove the yellow stains at the water line then the polishing compound (Meguires boat and RV). It came out good but was a lot of work. Someone mention Aquabuff for very heavy oxidation.

This was going to be my two cents worth. Our roof had not been maintenanced for the years after it was new. I got up there and scraped all the residual droppings silicone from the air heads being messy up there during installation of some of the roof top components, i.e. King Dome, cable stays and more.

Then, I got the high speed buffer up there and, for on and off, about 2.5 days, ran a cutting and buffing compound etc. Then, it got waxed. It was in pretty sad shape when I started, this is how it looks now.

Check the weather it needs to be sunny. Power wash
Then next day with full Sun it will dry fast enough to
Apply all three Coats. Im in Santa Barbara so that
Wasent hard. I did hire à helper and I just supervised.
Total cost for matériels was appprox $150.
