Roof top AC units
The roof AC units on my 06 Mountain Air gas motor home are losing there cooling capacity. Can they be recharged or do they need to be replaced

You need to verify the top condenser and the Evaporator are fully clean. You also need to drop the round ceiling ducts on the drivers side interior and clean or replace the filters. RV AC units are sealed and cannot be charged economically. IF you have diminished cooling and you have a leak, odds are you have NO cooling as they only hold 1 lb of coolant. If you have a leak, the small amount of coolant leaks out pretty quick. The ONLY way to test for lack of charge is a temp correct amp draw on the compressor. Doug
