Roof Vent Covers

Take a look at the Fantastic Fan Ultra Vent. They're fairly new. They are made to fit over the Fantastic Fans and allow the cover to fully open.

They also have another feature. Once mounted, they have four quick release pins that allow you to quickly/easily remove the cover and clean the fan lid and inside the fan. They do build up dirt and I remove mine once a year for cleaning.

I put Fan-Tastic Vent UB1500SM Smoke Ultra Breeze Vent Covers on my Maxxair remote control fans and they work great. The vent lid hits the cover and stops itself at about 90% open.

We had Max-Air covers on our 08 HR and we very rarely closed the vents. They worked great. Our new hotel room on wheels (Ar-One 15RB) had vents with out fans and I installed a MaxAir Deluxe in the bathroom and will probably add one to the main area of the trailer. This fan and cover combination is really cool so if you are thinking of replacing any fans or vents look in to the MA Deluxe. It is cheaper than buying a new fan/vent and cover.

Just to be different, I installed the Fantastic Vent Ultra Breeze.

I have three Maxx-Air covers and painted them the same base color as my RV.

I've found that I have to sand and repaint them about every other year or so.

I never use the autofan opener and manual crank mine open.

Like others said 80% to 90% open.

I had them installed over the telephone when I was ordering my second RV. Wouldnt have a coach that didnt have them

Why would you need Maxx-Air covers over your telephone! :B

I installed two MaxAirs -- one ever the kitchen fan & the other over the bedroom fan.

Even though they are white, the MaxAirs reduced the light coming in so I eventually removed the bathroom one.

So I can still use at least one fan if it rains.

Camco or MaxAir roof vent covers? My dealer only has camco but can order the MaxAir if we only want them. Give me the negatives of each please.

Once you push the button they open all the way and won't stop until they are all the way open. I've tried repushing the button and it just reverses the lid.

I learn something new every day around here. I wonder what they would do if they ran into something (like a vent cover). Would they stop or just keep going until the motor or worm gear gave out.

Like Kiwkee step motors they run until they meet resistance. The resistance causes the motor to slow, current (amps) increases. The increase in current opens a switch and shuts off the motor. The controller senses this, know it's at its limit and cuts power to the motor.

Our vent switch works as described above.
