Rough freeways.
For all you experienced travelers which state has the roughest freeways? I haven't been in every state but many of them and I vote California.

- I-287 from Port Chester NY across the Tappanzee Bridge may be the worst piece of road I’ve ever driven on. Our recent trip from Mass to FL and back, it was easily the worst!
- I don't get around a whole lot but the Chicago area has freeways far worse than anything I've encountered in Ca.
- I-10 in Louisiana comes to mind first. The road was so bad a pothole knocked the steering wheel out of my hands. Yikes!
Second worst is I-20 between Birmingham and Atlanta. Between the never-ending construction and washboard roadway you cannot move smoothly or hear yourself think.
Third: the Pennsylvania Turnpike, pretty much everywhere. - Overweight semi trucks equal bad roads.
- MI and LA are the worst I have seen. At least LA appears to be working to fix there horrendous section of I-10 but it's been like that for as long as I can remember. I don't think there is any hope for MI!

- In 2016 I 40 across AZ was the roughest road I have ever driven on and I have been on many rough roads
