We were camped next to a group in CA who had three vehicles running on veggie oil. They always seemed to be messing around with the fuel system on one of their admittedly weird assortment of rigs. The worst case was when the driver pulled into the campground and shut down without purging the system back to diesel. They spent several hours the next day cleaning the congealed veggie oil from the fuel lines.
This was an environmental group and their converted bus had the shell of a VW Microbus inserted into the roof for a 2nd story.
