Just had my Onan QS8000 first service. The tech was very good at the Cummins Bridgeway branch. He advised against driving with the gen running in a heavy rain. That it could get water injested into the system. Thought it was a good idea.

That could be expensive. I would check with any and all manuals that came with the RV and Gen for proper Gen operating conditions.
What if the various electric utility companies could not run their generators in the rain? Run it, And if there is a problem with moisture being ingested, fix it. - jwmIIExplorerWhat if the various electric utility companies could not run their generators in the rain? - Rich_D_ExplorerNever heard that before but installations and generator types vary widely. Some are pretty open and others are totally sealed in soundproof compartments. I guess he may be referring to an installation where water may be sucked into the air inlet?
I've never seen a post where someone had a problem running rhe generator in the rain.
