Rv covers

It is a love hate relationship. Personally mine tore to shreds after less than two months. Never again will i waste the money on the junk

They do help but...... It a test of patients trying to put it on and removing it from the RV, putting it on is definitely more difficult.

I ended up storing the RV indoors and selling the cover.

A couple of years ago I did some research on this issue. Opinions were all over the place on whether a cover is worth it or not. I ended up concluding a cover seems to make sense for sun protection if you are in an intense sun location, otherwise probably not.

My Classic RV cover is still useable after about 5 years (I have done some patching on it). I think they are great protection from the sun, leaves, and snow. That being said they do have drawbacks. They are difficult to put on, They can rub on the finish, they can freeze down if taken off in winter (which I do), you have to pad all sharp edges on the 'RV to keep the cover from getting holes and rips. My motorhome does not currently have the cover on it but I hope to get it on before it snows and will take it off in Feb to go south. I probably should have put it on 2 months ago but kept putting it off as it is a job and makes it hard to get to the basement storage and entrance. If you use one make sure it is held
on securely, I use bungie cords to keep it tight in the wind etc. the ropes leave it too loose.

I cover my TT during the off season leaves, dirt, bird droppings and other stuff off the RV. It's very nice taking the cover off at the start of the camping season to have a clean TT ready for the first trip.

My TT is only 23' and I haven't found it really difficult to the put the cover on or take it off by myself. I would imagine the larger the cover the more difficult it's going to be getting it off and on.

I think putting one on is more than a one person job. They are pretty heavy. If you don't intend to use the RV for months at a stretch, I'm sure they're worth it.

I just covered our 41' MH for the first time. Had no trouble covering it. I laid the cover out on the ground 1st, and oriented it to the MH at the rear of the MH, and then folded the side in on top of the roof section. Grabbed the front of the cover and climbed up the MH's ladder pulling the cover with me. Then pulled the cover all the way to the front and dropped the front section off the front of the MH. Then tossed both sides over, and pulled the rear in place while climbing down the ladder. Shifted the cover around a little once on the ground and then fastened the straps. The whole process took maybe 1/2 hr.

These covers may be nice when they are brand new but must get awefull dirty after one winter. Can't imagine washing one of them. Pool covers were hard enough to clean after one use. Then you have to store it and hope it does not rot.
I'd rather wash the coach in the spring. 6 year old 5th wheel still looked like new with just an annual wax and that was with a PITA rubber roof.
Sure my FG roof will stand up much better.

IMHO, not worth anything. I bought one for my MH a few years ago. I gave it away after two or three uses. It's a real pain to put on. You have to drag a 50+ pound thing up on the roof. Drag it all the way from the rear to the front of the roof, trying not to tear it or pull something off the roof. Then pull the sides over to the side of the coach and drop them over without falling off. then climb down (no small feat with bunches of canvas falling around you) and try to get everything even and tied down. Then reverse it all when you get ready to go again. And, the winds put several holes in mine the first time I used it. When I gave it away, I had used up all the patches that came with it and had a few duct tape patches, too.

It may not have been the dumbest purchase I have made, but it certainly comes close!
