rv depreciation schedule

Never seen anything like that! Used RV is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Generally 50% after 5 years, less for orphans.

Eskins, I'm also curious to why you would want a depreciation schedule. I can't imagine that they are that accurate. As fuel prices rise, gas guzzling vehicles for recreational use will plummet (generally speaking).

A lot also depends on how the economy is doing.

One thing that is for sure, a RV will depreciate. Don't worry about it and have fun! These are toys and cost a lot to keep up and insure.

You are spot on with the way too many variables comment. Look what happened to RV values after 9/11 then again in '08. Talk about big swings!

To the OP, just do a little studying on NADA Guides, its pretty easy to come up with a % formula.

Use 20% for year one, and 10% of remaining value for subsequent years and you won't be far off average retail. If you want to sell, subtract another 10% for wholesale.

What the value is in one area is not the same in another.
Ask your bank or Credit Union the loan value and retail value.
They can tell you about new or used models. They could care less
what a software program says. They use their own guidelines.

Draw a line straight down and put an arrow on it....That's a very accurate RV depreciation schedule!
Now, if you are looking to buy a used RV you can look at the PPL Motorhomes website and it shows what RV actually sold for. You can look in books, you can ask around and you can compare one to another but, as mentioned above, the RV is worth exactly what one person is willing to sell and one person is willing to buy.

When it is all variable, I think general rule is 20% off once you roll out the dealer gate and about 30% after first year.

like 4545 said it is a life style.you will not make money rving just compare prices of equal rvs and buy the one you like each rv is diff. erent no book or program could tell you that good luck

Keep in mind a lot of sellers and dealers of used DPs like to use MSRP as an original starting point. From what I've seen poking around, the actual sale price is substantially below that. It seems paying somewhat around 70% of MSRP is common for a new DP.
