Since we're on the topic of drivers licenses I would like to encourage everyone regardless of MH size to get a copy of the class A license study guide from your DMV and do some reading.
The books address things like passing, convoying and impeding the flow of traffic. They address truckers, but the common sense part of it applies to any of us driving or towing RVs.
I'm sure we've all found ourselves behind a MH or trailer driving like they own the road, slowing traffic and refusing to let others pass. It causes passers to take unnecessary chances and gives all of us a bad name.
We need a "like" button on this forum. Great advice, as a former commercial driver with logs showing about 5 million miles of driving I couldn't agree more.
I recently downgraded my license from a class A CDL to a class A non-CDL since I no longer have any need to qualify as a CDL driver. Saved about 50% on renewal costs and no physical exam required. Still allows the same benefits as a CDL size wise, just can't work for pay doing so or drive a commercial vehicle. This was/is in PA so may vary with the home state of others.
