RV electrical course

Is there a simple on-line RV electrical course for dummies? While I worked on my stick home wiring it, the converter/inverter 12 volt, 120 volt, battery switch, dash battery switch, I'm not at all familiar with.

  • looking at the seminar schedule for The GS Rally in Atlanta, looks like there will be at least one seminar relating to electrical
  • I think one of the best ways to get info on RV stuff is attend some of the bigger RV rallys and almost always there is seminars on all facets of the RV MH I know at Amana Colonies couple years ago they had seminars on different ends of maintenance and it helped us big time-Rich
  • Electricity flows the same, whether it be at a stix n brix home or your RV.....30 amp, 1 hot leg, a neutral and a ground...50 amp, two hot legs, a neutral and a ground...the use of meters are helpful most of the time..Inverter/Converter, uses 12V supply and bumps it up to 120V, battery switch simply turns off the battery supply to almost everything in the coach. Some parasitic draw remains for radio clocks, LP detector, CO protector etc. The dash battery switch momentarily connects your house batteries and your coach batteries in case they are weak and won't start the coach....Click the link below for some excellent information on RV Electrical systems.....Dennis
