- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIArticle/video stated RV caught on fire in rear ....driver pulled over. AND THEN brakes went. (It was parked for several minutes before it started rolling backwards)
Also GF was rescued from MH ....bystander went in and got her out. Found her laying on floor while it was still stationary. Both treated for smoke inhalation. - charlie_good_tiExplorerIf fire started from rear brakes eighter from air leak that allowed them to be dragging an rv kept being driven they would eventually heat to the point they would not hold at ALL due to drum expansion an other tech things happening to brake lining an an drum surface
Remember only rear wheels serve as parking brakes. So if brakes were BOTH heated to point they did not hold rv would keep rolling That is what happens when tractor trailers are sometimes found on runway ramps on steep hills. Most are not on fire but very close to that point - 45RicochetExplorer

I thought that a complete failure of the air brake system would lock the brakes down and the motorhome would not roll. The coach still had momentum even with the tires exploding making them flat.
Maybe in their haste to get out they never set the parking brake so the rig just rolled. Otherwise a loss of air would have applied the brakes.

05 Travel Supreme Envoy - RCMAN46ExplorerI have seen a couple vehicle fires in person.
I am amazed at the extent or the fire damage and the heat produced.
From this video and other RV fire videos they also are very extensive and appear to burn very hot. - Mr_Mark1ExplorerWhat an awful thing to happen, especially, it being their full-time home.
Watching the video, it appears that they have a diesel pusher from looking at the front-end and the distance the front wheels are from the front bumper.

It's good to see a hero who risked his own life to save others.

Apparently God didn't bless the MH and its owners. - bobndotExplorer III

You could not be more correct . It can be applied to everything in life.
After seeing this on the news and seeing how that military vet risked his life to save the woman trapped inside . Its people like that , that make this world go around.
Having malfunctioning tank level gauges doesn't seem so important anymore. - BigSkyBobExplorerI'm curious as to why they had the Norcold fridge in the engine compartment.

Good time to remind everyone to check their emergency exits, fire extinguisher and smoke detectors. Yes this time they got out the front but what if the fire was in the front and you were in the back?
