RV Park near Mass Turnpike

Next week we will be driving from Wells Maine to the Syracuse area and plan to make two stops..one midway through Massachusetts and the other near Albany (already booked Arrowhead for that). We can't seem to find any RV Parks near the Mass Turnpike that can accomodate a 36ft Class A other than Oak Haven in Wales (we stayed there on the way up) Any suggestions? This is just for an overnight, not sightseeing. Thnaks.

  • Anyone try Sunset Farms in Monson, Mass west of Sturbridge? Both Sturbridge Outdoor and Yogi Bear have gotten awful reviews.
  • If you stayed at Oak Haven on the way up and were happy with it, I'd stay there on the return trip.

We stayed at Jellystone(Yogi Bear)/Sturbridge one time for two nights which was two nights too many. If you didn't like Oak Haven, I'd find a place to stop short for that night or travel a bit further to find something better.

Normandy Farms is a wonderful RV park, but that's probably too far out of your way.
  • I have stayed at several with a 40'. One is Yogi Bears on I believe route 20.
I have also stayed at Sturbridge Rv,19 Mashapaug Rd Sturbridge , Massachusetts - 01566

And yes I have stayed at them. We go up there every summer to visit the kids.
  • Other than Oak haven, the Sturbridge RV Parks cannot accomodate over 35 feet. I have all the directories, been on the road over 2 years, this post is requesting actual RV Park recommendations from people who have actually stayed in them.
  • Regarding the Interstates, I find that the NorthEast is really stingy with easy on/easy off campgrounds. As compared, of course to anything south of Maryland and west to California.
I use the KOA and Trailer Life directories. Both serve me well. Others here can tell you about Wal-Marts...at least those that permit overnight stays.

    Good luck!
