I've read many posts mentioning RV parks who will not take coaches over 10 years old. Although I can understand it in some cases but there are many more cases that I don't understand it at all!Take a 12 to 15 year old Newell or Prevost, some would argue these coaches haven't even started aging yet!And how about the high end American Coach, Newmar, Tiffin etc. And what about Country Coach and Blue Bird Wanderlodge that are over ten years?What if you have been going to the same RV park for 5 years running and now its 2015. Are you no longer wanted in that park?Maybe you can explain it to me because it sounds like RV parks are giving up very good business and slighting a lot of RV'ers.HJ

I honestly think it's blown out of proportion here. I personally have never heard of an actual problem for anybody. I'm sure it happens but it must be very rare.I suspect it's more of an excuse a park can use to say no to a dilapidated rig.

I've been to parks that reserve the right to reject your coach if it does not meet their standards. It had nothing to do with age and had everything to do with the exterior appearance, and whether your RV looked neat and maintained or rundown and falling apart. I personally have never run across an RV park that restricted it's patrons to a 10 year old or newer coach. I doubt if I would fit in even tho my coach would. NO offense intended to those that may prefer an elitist RV park.

I think you'll find most of those rules have gone by the wayside after the downturn in the economy. Some of the parks we camped in that used to have those rules now cater to permanent campers in economy trailers. We never had any problems back when the coach was 15 years old. They just didn't want trashy-looking campers in their park.

Normally only VERY high end $$$ parks. If it is well maintained you will be fine. WE keep our TT maintained and the appearance nice. As far as I'm concerned our TT will only be 8 or 9 years old forever. Let them prove otherwise!

Our 02 DS still gets admirers for it's beautiful paint scheme and we have never been turned away from any parks!

I had this situation happen to me once many years ago at a upscale RV Resort in Lake Havasu City, AZ. We went to register and I was asked how old my coach was? I told the lady at the RV Park office why does it matter how old my coach is (my RV was 5 years old at this time)? She told me that they don't want any coaches in there park with faded paint or beat up, only vehicles that look new and shinny! She also told me that the RV Park community has people assigned at different times in the RV Park to vote in or out coaches that are over 10 years old. The lady gave me some lot numbers to look at! We were in the back part of this RV Resort looking at rental lots and we could smell garbage? Come to find out this RV Resort was across the street from the LHC Landfill! We left that RV park and headed out to the Island.

Been rving half time for the five years and have not had the question of how old brought up. I do tend to stay away from anything that claims to be a resort as the price is usually 30 buck a night more

I think I read that the one on Lake Conroe at Conroe, TX restricts by age, but its pretty fancy. They have storage units and live entertainment.

Mine is a 1992 American Eagle, so far so good. But how much longer?
Does it help my toad is a 2013 Cadillac SRX? LOL!

I'm going down to the Woodlands area in January and found a park that will even
allow you to wash your RV and car if you want. By the time I get there I know it will need it. They never even asked me the age when I made reservations.

Just keep the paint or gelcote from oxidizing and you will not have a problem!

I have visited a nice RV Resort in Palm Springs, CA that has the rule. I rode my bicycle throughout the park and noticed several "old" rigs well beyond the ten year cutoff.

Most were not fancy Prevost or Newmar "high-end" DPs. They were "old" Bounder, Hurricane, and Discovery gassers that were shiny as new, (I can spot those oldies)!

The paint and gelcote glistened, and all decals were in place! And there they were, unassuming, and not eyesores between brand new rigs.

My RV is 13 years old, but I have not had any issues up to this point...finding wood to knock on. I think most will want to just keep the leaking and "mad max" looking RV's out, but I could be wrong.
