It seems to me that Fleetwood would prefer to fix the issue before you take a road trip in the rain; even more potential under warranty damage.
Just curious, did you purchase the RV with the slides "out"? ... and NOT compare how the rig was inside and outside with the slides "in"?

I had them put the slides in before I bought but didnt do a walkaround with them in, just wanted to be sure I could use what I needed with the slides in and underway.
I did make one trip in the rain, drove about 15min through a rainstorm once.
