RV Tires - saved $$$$

We found the FMCA program to be the best out there. The Allegro Club has the same program. The savings makes paying the dues worth while. We saved over $500 on tires for our last coach two years ago.

If Mich's are so fantastically better....why arent every over the road tractor and trailer running them??

I look at the tires on rigs at the fuel stops and I RARELY see Mich's on a tractor or a trailer. Mich makes a good tire IMHO but I'll be tarred and feathered if If going to pay their price for them. A tire dealer near me here wanted $500 each for Bridgestones and $905 each....EACH for the same sized Mich...? Someone has to be joking!!

I bought mine last April using the FMCA program. It is a great deal.

I'm on my third set of Mich's and never have had a problem w/tires in 85K miles on my DS...Jus sayin...

And where is the hard data that says Michelin is a better tire than Hankook, Yokahama, or Toyo? Folks keep saying how superior Michelins are, yet no one can find any data from an independent source that shows they are superior.

When I bought my coach used I wanted to put new tires on it. I consulted with a friend who had just sold all FIVE of his Goodyear stores. His advise based upon his years of selling various brands and monitoriing tire failures was " I would not consider any tire except Michelin. They simply make a stronger, safer tire". I took his advice and bought Michelins. They are now five years old and I am going to replace them after putting 30,000+ miles on them. They still look good. I just promised myself that I would put new rubber on every five years. Some will say that is not necessary, I know. But, I have had high speed blowouts before and do not relish experiencing that in a coach on a mountain two lane road ! So, weather cracks or not, I invest in rubber every five years. Am preparing to do the FMCA / Michelin deal within the next couple of months.

I guess if you full time, Mich at a discount would be fine...some of us put 15k every 5 years and Mich are not worth it... Jus sayin...

How does the quality compare? I know Michelin has a lot of overhead with advertising and name recognition. How about big rig tire quality? Obviously they have to at least be good as they go cross country and wrack up many miles... But I have no idea.

It is hard to beat Michelin.
