RV tires best buy

A 265/75R22.5 is a direct replacement for Michelin's weird 255/80.

Weather cracks don't automatically indicate the tire needs to be replaced. If they are under the manufacturers specified depth. This depends on age of the tire of course but check the manufacturers web site, or with their reps as either source should be able to tell you if the cracks are too deep or if the tire is too old to be trusted.

Also, Amazon carries 22.5's and if you're a Prime member, shipping is free. The brand and style I bought came to $200 each. And most Love's Truck tire stores will M&B them even if you didn't buy them from them. And they have a balancing machine big enough to balance them. Cost me $40/tire to get the M&B done there. So as low as $1500 for a full set M&B'ed if you want to work a little at saving money. Also drove up from California to Oregon to have it done up here.

Loves does the FMCA program and their prices for mounting and balancing and getting rid of old tires are several hundred dollars cheaper than the one we choose. They had more up to date equipment too. The Loves was only three years old.
We were charged over a hundred dollars per tire plus exhorbitant fees for this and that And they did not do as we discussed, prior, clean some salt off inside rims. Said they didn't even have water out there or hoses.

If your rim size and dual separation is adequate, you can use 275/70R22.5 tires. You'll find several manufacturers in this size, and the price will be better.

I replaced my xrv 255x80x22.5 with Sumitomo 727 tires in the 275/70R22.5 size. Tire is slightly wider, but almost no speedometer change. The 275's make 549 revs/mile where the 255's make 541 revs/mile, so the speedometer error is so small that I can't detect a difference.

Keep shopping. You can do much better.

Well just get the tires and take a shorter trip. Be thankful it wasn't your transmission.

I would check with Les Schwab if you are in northern or eastern portion of state.
