I just use water.
you know that maybe does work fine for you? but how big a tank do u have? how often do u dump it? what are the weather conditions
etc etc
My posts were more towards heavy usage, prolonged dumping and warm weather
If u have a large tank like mine, let it get 3/4 full in a warm climate
believe u me they can get pretty smelly if the winds blowing the wrong way when someone flushes and your vents/windows are open
You seem to have your own agenda and are not willing to listen to RVers with actual experience. I have a large tank (likely much larger than yours) and I don't need anything other than water. With 165 gallons fresh capacity, I have 90+ gallon black and 90+ gallon grey. I don't have any "smell" issues using only water, water and water. I am pretty sure that over the last 20 years the wind has blown in every direction and this has never, no, not even once, been an issue.
If what you are looking for is someone to confirm what you already believe you know, just post "here's what I do and I believe it to be the only correct option". It will save us all a lot of time and effort trying to give you useful information.
Boy oh boy you could not be further from the truth.I have been RVing for a long time and have had more than a few Mh,s.(live in my 40ft pusher for 5 months at a time for last 10 years) Maybe your bus convertion is a much better set up both size and venting> I believe it is but that does not help the thousands of smaller MH and pull trailers with smaller Blank tanks and for you to believe there is no such thing as black tank odour is beyond ridiculous sir.NO I don't have an agenda at all but for you to come here and chastise me because I post the reality of what 99% of what the average camper can, will and does endure regarding tank odour really galls me
Iam glad your bus is 100% great but as said the reality is most Rvers will and do experience black tank odour at one time or another for many reasons and the use of chemicals for the reduction of and prevention is very much warrented
its not like every black tank stinks its just a reality that they all do at one time or another depending on the circumstances
Full Timed for 7 yrs and I'm with Bill...water is all that is necessary.
Maintain the 'vapor barriers', Dump waste tanks when almost full for that WHOOSH effect and never leave them dry.
Chemical poop sticks worst them regular natural smelling poop.
I'm been doing it this way for countless numbers of RVs in various shapes/sizes/styles and water is king.
S&B roof vents don't stink either.
No real right wrong.......you have poop odors and use chemicals.
I don't and use water.
Whatever works...works!
