RV Toilet Treatment
Interested to know how many use "liquid" black water treatment vs ready made "drop in" packets. Also would like to know which brand you recommend and which brand seems to have the longest odor elimination timeline.

I don't think anyone in this forum has ever said that. But what is being said is that just because it stinks in the tank, does not mean it has to stink in the RV. If you treat your tank properly (correct flushing methods, plenty of water etc) and mechanically it's maintained, you shouldn't get any odor. Some say they still do and answer the problem with a perfume masking it. Others use water and have no issues. its not very hard to pour 5 oz of fluid in the toilet each time the tanks dumped and super flushed lol
But you see, that's the whole point. "Why" pour 5 oz of fluid that costs $$ when you don't have to and water will do just fine that doesn't cost anything? Granted that 5 oz doesn't cost much, but over a long period of time with many, many 5 oz being poured....it will definitely add up to a lot of $$ that could have been used more wisely.
Obviously you are set in concrete on this issue and have no desire to hear alternatives. Fine. It's your $$.

Ron- I have to agree with usermanual Poop does stink. But I seldom use any chemicals and seldom smell any poo. All though in my truck camper bathroom. Which is small by nature, if the vent is open and there is several days of poo in the tank and the door is opened to the bathroom sometimes there is that wiff of jiff that no doubt is sucked in the fan vent from the black tank vent. So finally usermanual you have a comrade!:)

The product I use is totally all natural.I don't have a problem at all hardly ever unless Like I have said 14 times now The tank gets too full on a warm day and the indio winds are blowing the wrong way or I left the Bathroom vent open then in these conditions I do get a
wiff of sewer. AS said all Black tanks will have odours, now if your vents in a area where it does not effect you either by roof vents or
whatever great but believe you me theres odour coming from your 3/4 full Black tank just the same as everyone else that has a RV

The product I use is also totally all natural and it works just as well as your product. Mine is called water. I highly doubt that yours is more natural than mine. I do not, and I want to make sure that there is no confusion here, I do not have any black tank odors inside or outside my RV. The hose connection is sealed so dumping the tank would NEVER create any smell. So, unless you dump your tanks in something other than an RV dump, no one would ever have any distinguishable odors no matter what they use or do not use.
As I mentioned earlier, I have used a chemical called Happy Camper and if you use a Blue Boy or have issues with your toilet I highly recommend this product.TechWriter wrote:
