We stayed one night only 4/21 and I was quite underwhelmed. Sites are tight and I always hated the Jack & Jill sites where you face your neighbor. Office overcharged us as they added $10 for two children and we have no children. They claimed we said we had children which was pure bunk as we simply have never had children period. They wouldn't refund as apparently their "corporate owner" doesn't allow refunds. We camped here in a 43' motorhome and we won't be back. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wow...that review. What they did is steal from you. I certainly hope you contacted the State Attorney General and registered a complaint. Even if all they do is contact 'Corporate', a company officer has to answer the complaint, which often gets some positive action.

I was still steamed when I got home so I dialed up my credit card customer service and protested the $10 charge. It was taken care of in 24 hrs.

Could it be possible that it was the policy of the owners to not allow the clerk to refund charges and not actually the policy of the park to never issue a refund of erroneous charges? Almost all retail establishments have policies that certain refunds, cancellations and the like must be either done by a manager or at least signed off by a manager. That's why you get the 30 minute delays in line at Walmart while the clerk, the head cashier and the assistant manager have to sign in, type a couple of million characters and sign a dozen or so slips to correct an errant price in the database. Not allowing all employees to cancel or reverse transactions is just good security.
Maybe the clerk on duty at the time misunderstood that just because she couldn't issue a refund didn't really mean that the park wouldn't issue a refund.

Isn't that the whole point of any review?: I want to know if this writer's criticism is relevant to the way I would use that RVpark. A review that is all peachy/glorious doesn't help me as much as one which identifies problems.

That said, there's no need to get all hissy about a place just because there was a tree branch in the way or the clerk acted bored.

Beauty (i.e., quality) is in the eye of the beholder.

To some, good WiFi and cable is important. If it's not important to you, then just ignore the review.

Because of rvparkreviews.com & rvparky.com, we rarely have a bad experience at a CG. I always use these sites to research where we're going to stay. While I'm not a Pollyanna, I am fairly easy to please, so knowing ahead of time what MINOR negatives a place might have helps us have good experiences. Research and a good attitude go a long way.

I use RVparkreviews regularly. I find the totally negative reviews to be the ones I question the most. If I see that the reviewer has posted several negative reviews I am inclined to ignore anything posted by them.
We have stayed at parks with significant negatives because they were convenient for some other reason - generally location. Usually the negatives are present - railroad tracks are not likely to move nor are highways, small sites will still be small. Knowing in advance is helpful but will not drive us away. Rude staff may or may not be an issue by the time we arrive. Awful refund rules, usually posted someplace, will prevent us from paying for more than one night at a time!

I use RVParkreviews all the time. My favorite reviews ARE the negative ones! They are the most fun to read. And it is 50/50 who I feel bad for... sometimes it is the camper, other times it is the campground owner.

I've not had any issues with submitting reviews there.

And a major retail chain that allows you to spend the night in their parking lot, sells groceries, get cash at their register (no charge), make getting your medication a snap, sells RV supplies, does oil changes, and sells fuel for a competitive price. As the kids say, "haters just want to hate."

I don't understand the need some have to spread false negative information about a website that exists solely to support this hobby/lifestyle. Bash it at your own peril.

The same holds true for a major truck stop chain that has dedicated RV lanes, a dump station, and a propane source--JUST FOR US!!! Who does that, and more importantly, why?
